The Dave Lewis Member Assistance Fund was established
to offer financial assistance to those members who are experiencing a
financial crisis. The Dave Lewis Member Assistance Fund is anonymous
and discrete.
Seattle Men in Leather has the ability to award a limited
number of Financial Assistance Scholarships via the Dave Lewis Member
Assistance Fund. Recipients are those Seattle Men in Leather members
who otherwise lack the financial resources to attend and participate
in an event. Scholarships may be awarded for annual Seattle Men
in Leather club membership renewal, registration to Seattle Men in Leather
workshops and seminars, registration for Seattle Men in Leather runs,
the annual Seattle Men in Leather anniversary dinner, and other Seattle
Men in Leather events and activities as the Dave Lewis Member Assistance
Fund committee may deem appropriate. Awards will be limited to
a maximum of $200 per individual per calendar year. Quarterly activity
stickers will also be taken into consideration by the Dave Lewis Member
Assistance Fund committee in deciding the amount of the Financial Assistance
Scholarship.

About Dave Lewis
The Dave Lewis Member Assistance Fund was created in
the memory of Dave Lewis, President of Seattle Men in Leather (March,
2003 through December, 2004). During his time in office, the Seattle
Men in Leather membership grew, new programs were started, and a new
spirit of enthusiasm and energy was created. His untimely death
following a weekend of “Pictures with Santa”
fundraising shocked the community. He is missed by those who knew
and loved him.
