Contest
Title Responsibilities
- To maintain the spirit of Seattle Men in Leather
and assist in fostering attitudes of camaraderie, community, and
charity while Promoting With Pride the Seattle men’s leather
community.
- To represent the men’s leather, Levi’s,
and uniform lifestyles in a spirit of pride, fun, and unity in cooperation
with the larger gay community.
- To host the welcome social/party at Equinox (or
a similar event, as directed by the Steering Committee). Each
titleholder will receive a complimentary registration for Equinox.
- Titleholders are required to sponsor/organize 3
(three) fundraisers during their title year. These have been,
traditionally, Pictures with Santa in December (working the event
the month after winning the title, and helping organize it the next
year), the annual Father’s Day Chili Feed in June, and the
organization of the next year’s contest in November along with
the SML Steering Committee. Any additional fundraisers or events
are at the option of the title holders.
- Titleholders shall not hold another title in another
organization during their title year with SML. To do so would
be in effect relinquishing the title to the first runner-up.
- In the event that any title winner cannot fulfill
his obligations during his year, the title may be passed on to the
first runner-up.
